The Reising .22 pistol was the brainchild of the talented firearms designer Eugene Reising. He had worked directly for John Browning on the design for the 1911 pistol. He received two patents for his own .22 pistol design, one in 1916 and the other in 1921. Production began in his New York, NY, factory during 1921, but unfortunately it didn’t catch on. Only 5.000 were made before production was discontinued in 1924. Research indicates that they do not do well with high-velocity ammo, so if you decide to buy this as a shooter we would recommend using only standard velocity .22 long rifle rounds. This example is in average used condition. The grip panels show quite a bit of wear, but the logo and the words are still clearly visible on both of them. The action is smooth and the bore is bright. It field strips easily using the takedown lever. There is no box or case included.
