The Remington Model 11-87 Premier 20 Gauge is a highly regarded, gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun. Built on a small-frame receiver specifically scaled for the 20-gauge cartridge, the “TL” prefix in serial number (tl012206) formally verifies its identity as a standard-production 20-gauge model within the 11-87 family line. Introduced as a premium version of the 11-87 line, the Premier grade is a direct stylistic descendant of the iconic Remington Model 1100. It features fine-line floral/scroll engraving on both sides of its polished, blued steel receiver. The defining technological advancement of the 11-87 over its predecessor is its self-compensating gas system. Using a pressure-metering stainless steel seal ring under the forearm, the shotgun automatically balances internal gas pressure.
