F.E. Boyd &P.S. Tyler ~ D XII ~ 12 Gauge

Francis E. Boyd & P. Shelton Tyler were part of a gunmaking community operating in Boston, MA in the 19th century. We are pleased to offer one of their rare pieces likely manufactured c. 1870s. Their shotguns are somewhat unique in that the barrels operate on a spindle and rotate 360 degrees for loading. This side by side 12 gauge features Damascus barrels, ornate checkering and hardwood walnut stock. The design includes 2 triggers and choked barrels – improved cylinder and modified. The chamber measures 3″ and requires 14 gauge brass only shells. This D XII is as beautiful as it is unique, so if you are looking for a great but not so common addition to a collection you may consider this side by side. Overall condition of this fine old shotgun is Very Good, and it still looks stunning more than 100 years later.
