Manufactured c. 1889, this old Winchester may have lost much of its finish and beauty, but it is still mechanically sound. For those who are not aware, the Model 1873 has often been referred to as the “Gun that won the west”. This rifle was important historically for many reasons – it was a vast design improvement – allowing for the progression from single shot to repeating rifles and was versatile in function. This gun appealed to everyone from lawmen to outlaws to settlers and hunters. One of the biggest advantages was the ability to pair rifle and handgun ammo.
